Nestlé Addresses ORCHARD® Juice Drink Concerns

Back to Press releases

Nestlé is aware of videos, which are circulating on social media with regard to apparent quality issues related to our ORCHARD® Orange Drink 1 Litre product. We apologize for the inconvenience that this experience may have caused the affected consumers.

The company encourages and welcomes feedback on all of its products and is in the process of contacting the persons who have made these complaints. Mould growth inside of juice drink products occurs very infrequently. While the company takes every precaution in the manufacturing and handling of our products, damage to the carton may occur if the item falls or is dented while being transported before consumption.

ORCHARD® Juices and Drinks are made in our Valsayn factory under an aseptic process that ensures the quality of both products and packaging. Everything in our production chain is commercially sterile and hygienic. This includes our drinks and juices and our tetra packaging (which is made up of six layers that ensure that the product's freshness is maintained). Our products are extensively tested at all points on the production chain - before, during and after manufacture.

Nestlé applies internationally recognised Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure quality and food safety as well as the internationally recognised HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) system to ensure safety in all of our products, verified by external certification bodies against the international ISO 22000:2005/ISO 22002-1 standards.

The quality and taste of all of our products and the wellbeing of our consumers are the top priorities of the 565 employees of Nestlé Trinidad and Tobago Limited.

Nestlé encourages any consumers who have experienced similar issues or concerns to advise us immediately by calling our consumer care hotline - 800 NEST or by visiting us through our social media contact points – Nestlé (TT) or www.nestle.tt. We pledge to address your concerns immediately.
