What is the Nestlé needs YOUth initiative?
One of the biggest challenges young people face, especially school leavers aged 16 to 29 years of age, is a lack of knowledge and conﬁdence about the world of work. The nature of our business, with its broad geographical and category spread gives us the chance to employ a wide range of young people from school leavers to post graduates. We have a unique opportunity and responsibility to play an active part in the communities where we live and work.
The essential part of the programme is to help young people be better prepared for the workplace and to continue their education at the secondary, technical and tertiary level. We have mobilized Nestlé employees to become Employee YOUth Ambassadors to provide support at events in schools and universities as well as at Nestlé. They help youngsters with interview preparation, CV writing and other readiness to work activities.
It is an initiative taken by Nestlé, aimed at strengthening and developing the employability of young people in Trinidad and Tobago. This youth employment initiative focuses on 4 main pillars.
